History of SUBWAY
In 1965, a young and ambitious 17-year-old American named Fred DeLuca set out on a remarkable journey to fund his medical education. With a borrowed $1,000 from his friend Peter Buck, Fred opened a small sandwich shop called Pete's Super Submarines in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Fred's vision was simple yet profound: to create a place where customers could enjoy freshly made, delicious sandwiches.
The shop quickly became a local favorite, thanks to its innovative offerings and commitment to quality. The unique and tasty sandwiches drew in crowds, establishing Pete's Super Submarines as a popular destination in the community.
Seeing the potential for growth, Fred and Peter decided to expand their business. In 1968, they rebranded their burgeoning chain with a name that would become synonymous with fresh and delectable subs worldwide: SUBWAY.
From its humble beginnings in a small Connecticut shop, SUBWAY has grown into one of the largest and most recognized restaurant chains in the world. The brand's commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction has remained steadfast, making it a beloved choice for millions of customers across the globe.
